Last week, Little Bees children had special visitors from Koori Kinnections to come in and celebrate the National Reconciliation week with us. Our children enjoyed a meaningful Aboriginal incursion where they touched kangaroo skin, emu eggs, and sea shells—exploring texture and learning how these natural items are traditionally used. They tapped along to traditional music with boomerangs and tapping sticks, feeling the rhythm and joy of movement while pretending to be kangaroos hopping and dancing around. Experiences like this help foster respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, while supporting sensory development, imaginative play, and physical growth.
