
Parramatta - Inanay - Indigenous children's song
As part of acknowledging the original custodians of the Australian land, the children are learning about Acknowledgement of Country. The children participate in either Acknowledgement of Country or Yarning Circle to pay their respects. Parramatta - Bright Stars
Little Bees has continued the dancing program with Miss Amanda from Bright Stars. She joins us weekly on Wednesday's where she spends 20 minutes implementing a dance session with the children. She focuses on getting the children to stretch their bodies for a warm up and cool down session as well as learning to dance and move their whole body as well as focus on specific body movements. Parramatta - Transition to School
As part of our transition to school curriculum, we have introduced "Crunch & Sip" which is a nutrition program implemented in NSW primary schools. The children sit down together at a designated time each day to eat some vegetables or a piece of fruit with water. During Crunch & Sip, educators have a short discussion with the children about healthy eating practices and increase their awareness of the importance of eating vegetables and fruit and drinking water. Parramatta - Pancake Day
Little Bees celebrated Pancake Day on Tuesday which represents 'Shrove Tuesday' as it is the day before Ash Wednesday. The children decorated their pancakes using a variety of fruits and whipped cream. The children enjoyed decorating their individual pancake for afternoon tea. Allowing children to create their own snacks provides opportunity for resilience and self independent skills. This can also foster and strengthen their ability to wanting to try new foods or ingredients

Parramatta - Valentines Day
Celebrating LOVE for our families. To celebrate Valentines Day, the children at Little Bees created valentines day cards for their families to show them how much they are loved. The children also participated in a range of learning experiences reflecting the theme of LOVE. We hope everyone showed their family and friends how much they mean to them.

Parramatta - Chinese New Year Celebrations
Year of the Ox. Oxes have an honest nature and are known for their diligence, dependability, strength and determination. The children celebrated Chinese New Year by making red paper lanterns as red is considered to symbolize luck, joy and happiness. During Chinese New Year, its traditional to hand our red envelopes which is a monetary gift. Miss Yumi handed out the red envelopes to the children which contained a special traditional Chinese candy.
